"I have never found it beneath my dignity to do anything to relieve human suffering."
--BJ Palmer
At Whole Health, we order our affairs around a set of four principles. These are:
Patient Well-Being:
The ultimate well-being of our patients is our primary concern. Some patients may have problems that are not amenable to the treatments we are qualified to offer. In those cases, we will refer the patient to someone who really has the potential to help them. As a natural healthcare clinic, our bias is to avoid drugs and surgery, but sometimes drugs or surgery are the best hope a patient has for recovering from an illness or regaining function.
As a clinic that has been established in Tallahassee since 1987, we are familiar with the local health care community. We usually have a good idea who the best practitioner to help with a given condition might be.
IF WE EVER REACH A POINT WHERE WE BELIEVE WE CAN NO LONGER HELP YOU, WE WILL REFER YOU TO SOMEONE WHO CAN.
Natural Health:
True Healing Comes Naturally from Within
Chiropractic is based on a philosophy known as vitalism. Simply put, this means that the body has an innate life force which tends to guide it towards a state of balance and well-being. This innate wisdom means that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Focusing on individual parts (such as just the cholesterol level, or just an individual joint) can never give the full picture of the integrated, magnificent whole.
Awareness of this innate intelligence makes it clear that the body can usually be trusted to return to a state of health if interference is removed. Chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage are all healing techniques which focus on removing interference within the body.
Humans have been using natural herbs as medicine and eating natural foods for thousands of years. Our bodies are designed to interact with the molecules and substances of these materials. Therefore, it is usually better to use a natural remedy, instead of a laboratory-produced chemical which has never before existed on the planet.
WE STRIVE TO RECOMMEND AND USE THE MOST NATURAL AND LEAST INVASIVE HEALING METHOD POSSIBLE.
Scrupulous Honesty:
When health problems arise, the emotions often react with fear. And fearful people are easily taken advantage of. This is why both alternative and orthodox health care are full of lies and half-truths.
At Whole Health, we never lose sight of the fact that you deserve the entire truth.
We won’t lie to you about the potential of our therapies to help you. We will tell you the truth about your condition.
We will tell the truth about our knowledge and abilities. We will let you know if anything goes wrong.
We obey all the laws and rules regarding insurance billing, even when insurers do not obey the rules with us. We never bill an insurer for anything more than medically necessary services. We never double-bill, offer to write off required co-pays or deductibles, or offer illegal incentives for referrals.
We will never recommend even one single treatment that we do not sincerely believe will benefit you.
WE WILL TREAT YOU THE WAY WE WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED, OR THE WAY WE WOULD WANT OUR PARENTS, CHILDREN, AND SPOUSES TO BE TREATED.
Whole-Person Healing:
Our patients come from all walks of life. We see patients who are all ages, races, and nationalities. We see patients who have multiple PhDs and patients who cannot read well enough to complete their intake forms. We see patients who are calm and happy, and we see patients who are mentally ill. We see professional athletes and we see patients who are confined to wheelchairs. We see patients who are impeccable in their diet, exercise, and other habits and we see patients who struggle with addictions and bad habits.
All these patients are people who have come to us for assistance. They have given us their trust. Each one is a child of God who deserves to be valued. We will treat everyone with courtesy and respect. We will encourage healthy habits and discourage unhealthy ones, but we are not here to judge anyone.
We recognize that sometimes the healing process is incomplete without a smile, a laugh, a hug, or just a few minutes of listening and sympathy.
WE WILL TREAT EACH PATIENT AS A PERSON FIRST AND STRIVE TO EXERCISE KINDNESS AND COMPASSION.
